1 - Installation
The installation file can be obtained from Xilnex WebApp.
- Login to https://webapp.xilnex.com/.
- Click on the Download button to download the installation file.
- Run the Setup.exe to proceed to installation. Internet connection will be required during this installation.
- A message will be prompted upon installation complete.
- If you don't have a specific DNS, we suggest you to setup your DNS to Google Public DNS. See how.
- Disable IPV6 on Windows.
- Change Windows DateTime format to dd/MM/yyyy.
- Whitelist Xilnex RetailPOS if you have any Anti-Virus software.
- Set your Windows Display Scaling to 100% for best compatibility.
2 - Generating Local Database
- Login to Xilnex RetailPOS with an activated account.
- The login button will be changed to "Please Wait". This process may take some time to complete.
- A window with a synchronization bar when the local database is successfully generated. The system will begin to sync your outlet info and user data. This process may take some time to complete.
- Once the synchronization is completed, select an outlet to continue the setup.
Local Database is generated locally on the targeted drive and it is unique for one machine only. Thus, we do not suggest you to back up the folder and paste it back after resetting the machine.
SITE ID (or known as Machine ID, Counter ID) is also a unique ID registered for one active machine only. This ID is registered or determined via the current network physical address.
If your PC is cloned, remove the key "SyncX" from the registry before generating the local database.
Click on the cloud icon -> Force Sync. Do not spam this button!
Let the machine sync the data with the server. Please do not perform any actions on this machine until it is completed.
How does synchronization work?
A full (complete) sync cycle consists of uploading data and downloading data. This process is automated when the system detects a new action is being performed on the machine. However, you may click the Force Sync button to tell the machine to initiate the sync immediately.
If you have multiple outlets registered in the database and not all sales data of other outlets are needed on this machine, you may head over to Database Configuration to set some sync filters (Sales group only). This would save a lot of space in your local drive and a full sync (0% to 100%) would also take a significantly lesser amount of time to complete.
4 - Checking Application Version
The application version that comes with the default installer is version 2.3.
The application version update shall take place in the background automatically. Try restarting your Xilnex RetailPOS to check if the version is updated. Alternatively, you may contact us to verify if the current version is suitable for your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I install Xilnex RetailPOS (Xilnex Classic) on Mac?
Xilnex RetailPOS is only supported on Windows. However, if you have multiboot utilities on your Mac that runs Windows OS, you can install the program flawlessly, provided the required Windows resources is available.
What is the minimum requirement to install Xilnex RetailPOS?
Minimum: Windows 7 and above / Duo Core Processors / 4GB RAM / 256GB Drive / 64-bit OS
Recommended: Windows 7 and above / Quad Core Processors / 8GB RAM / 256GB Solid State Drive / 64-bit OS
When can I start using the program after the installation?
We always recommend you to wait for the sync until it is fully completed. Alternatively, you can reach out to Xilnex Application Support Team if you have any concerns.
Can I back up Xilnex first before I send my PC to repair?
No. Xilnex RetailPOS is a cloud POS. Our focus is to secure your data on the cloud server. A clean installation will be required if you have reformatted your Windows operating system. However, if you have any further concerns and wish to know more about backing up the data locally, kindly send us an enquiry.
How do I know which application version am I supposed to use?
We're working on it currently. As of now, kindly reach out to Xilnex Application Support Team to verify your version.
Is there any charges for version updates?
Our Application and Database version upgrade is FOC.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
I cannot download the program. It keeps telling that download has failed due to the network interruption.
Try updating your DNS to Google Public DNS. If the issue still persist, kindly contact Xilnex Application Support Team for further assistance.
The program doesn't seem to work properly. Even the sync is slow sometimes.
Whitelist Xilnex RetailPOS.exe in your Anti-virus software. Alternatively, we suggest you to contact our Xilnex Application Support Team to assist you on this.
My Xilnex cannot go online. It keeps telling me to retry to go online at the login page.
